Statement by the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran Bangkok on U.S. and Israeli Regime Act of Aggression against Iran

.

- Once again, on the eve of Nowruz and the tenth day of Ramadan, the regimes of the United States and Israel, in violation of Article 2, Paragraph 4 of the United Nations Charter and international law, have committed a crime against the Iranian nation and carried out an act of blatant savagery, violating the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the country of Iran. The actions of the United States and the Zionist regime are compatible with no legal basis or justification; they constitute an act of aggression and a crime of aggression.

- During the initial hours of their aggressive operation, an elementary school for girls in Minab was targeted and destroyed, resulting in the martyrdom of nearly 200 innocent young girls. This act of aggression was orchestrated while Iran and the United States were engaged in diplomatic negotiations. It has been acknowledged that, like the previous round, these negotiations were a deceptive operation, and the decision to attack Iran had been made in advance, during Netanyahu's visit to the United States. While the President of the United States claims, 'America First,' this act of aggression demonstrates that Israel is his priority, and he intends to sacrifice the blood of American soldiers for the sinister goals of the Zionist regime.

- This comes despite the fact that Iran, notwithstanding past experiences and awareness of the United States' sinister intentions, entered these negotiations with good faith to fulfill its duty to the international system and all countries of the world, in order to prove the righteousness of the Iranian nation in its lack of pursuit of nuclear weapons, and to remove any ambiguity and lack of legitimacy for any pretext for further aggression by the United States and the Zionist regime."

- Iran participated in this negotiation and diplomatic process with complete good faith and seriousness, doing everything necessary to prevent war. However, the presence of the American side in these negotiations proved to be nothing more than theater, intended to deceive the entire world. In any case, war and aggression against Iranian territory were carried out through the joint operations of the Zionist regime and the United States.

- Most despicable of all in this aggression was the operation to assassinate the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran . In particular the assassination of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei great supreme leader of Iran constitutes an unprecedented violation of the principles an moral foundations accepted by human society and a blatant breach of the fundamental rules of the United Nations Charter and International Law.

- The United States and the Zionist regime must know that while they may be the ones to start a war and aggression, they will not be the ones to end it. By assassinating the Supreme Leader of Islamic Republic of Iran, they have deeply wounded the heart of the Iranian nation.

- The Iranian armed forces have risen with full authority to defend the territorial integrity of Iran. Responding to this aggression is Iran's legal and legitimate right under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter. The Iranian armed forces have prepared themselves with all their might and capabilities to confront this criminal aggression and repel the enemy's evil; they will undoubtedly respond to the malice of the enemies."

- Due to this blatant military aggression by the United States and the Zionist regime of Israel, the Islamic Republic of Iran requested an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council from the Secretary-General and the Security Council to take action against this clear violation of international peace and security. This request, addressed to the Secretary-General and the President of the Security Council, was made to ensure immediate fulfillment of their duties under international law and international regulations. However, as usual, the policy of double standards rendered the meeting fruitless.

- In any event, Iran expects all member states of the United Nations—particularly countries in the region, Islamic nations, members of the Non-Aligned Movement, and all governments that feel a sense of responsibility toward the preservation of international peace and security—to condemn the aggressive actions of the United States and the Israeli regime firmly and immediately. Iran calls upon them to rise up with urgent collective action to confront these acts, which constitute a clear threat and a violation of international peace and security."

- It is imperative to emphasize that the Iranian nation, in accordance with its historical record, will never submit and succumb to foreign aggression. It will firmly defend itself against hegemony and foreign encroachment, stand resolutely against those who violate its national sovereignty, territorial integrity, and independence, and ensure the aggressors regret their actions.

- Free nations of the world must understand that the joint aggression of the United States and the Zionist regime against Iran is not merely an attack on Iran, but a grave betrayal of diplomacy and an assault on the entire region, the consequences of which will engulf the entire area.

- While Iran remains fully committed to the policy of good neighborliness with regional countries, it simultaneously expects its neighbors to refrain from placing their facilities and territory at the disposal of the aggressors. Under international law, such actions are considered participation in and assistance to an act of aggression, which entitles the victim state to take defensive measures against the source and origin of the aggression.

- Regional countries must realize that the United States has abused their territory and facilities to spread the flames of war throughout the region. Therefore, any defensive action taken by Iran against such bases should in no way be construed as an attack by Iran against those regional countries."

- In the view of the Islamic Republic of Iran, as the victim of this aggression, all United Nations member states have an obligation to take a stance and condemn this act of aggression. Indifference and inaction on the part of UN members will only serve to embolden the aggressors, undermine international norms, and erode the fundamental principles of the rule of law and the United Nations Charter."
