Agreement between Iran and Thailand to Enhance Relations on the 75th Anniversary of Diplomatic Ties

During a meeting between H.E. Ali Asghar Mohammadi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director-General of the Asia-Pacific Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and senior Thai officials, discussions were held on increasing consultations in various areas, including politics, strengthening bilateral cooperation, and implementing joint projects to mark the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Iran and Thailand.

The Permanent Secretary of the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed appreciation for the efforts of the Islamic Republic of Iran in securing the release of Thai hostages in the Gaza Strip. He also commended the historical ties between the two countries and emphasized the political will of the government to further enhance cooperation.

In this round of talks, both sides discussed the exchange of high-level delegations, the convening of a Joint Economic Commission, ongoing consultations, and the exchange of expert delegations in the fields of science and technology. Agreements were reached to implement cultural projects and hold a joint consular meeting in the coming months.
